TERRY DURHAM
1936 - 2013
Painter, poet, song writer, vocalist, sculptor and author

The multi-talented Terry Durham was one of the earliest artists working at the Hartrox pottery as we
know he was there as an 18 year old in 1954 the year following it's establishment. Born in the West Yorkshire
village of East Ardsley he was within cycling distance of his work. When he left Hartrox we do not know, but by the
mid 1960s he was established in London as an artist and musician staging his first exhibition in 1963. He went on to
become an internationally known artist and musician releasing a solo album (Crystal Telephone) and forming the
folk group Storyteller. His paintings were exhibited in a number of countries. He died in Spain in 2013.
