Notes: White ware mug produced to mark the 1953 Coronation. Unmarked but the combination of the "pie crust" base, handle shape and transfers used help to distinguish this from competitors wares. Probably made early in the manufacturing run as later examples bear a gilded band just below the rim. Initially Hartrox had diffulcty applying the gilding and were not successful until they employed someone familair with the process. (Reference: Wilder 2003)
